Greetings!

It has been a while! I have been absent for a bit as I have been focusing on my in-person and online merch store that I aim to open soon. A convention in my city had open artist alley booth applications and, trying my luck, I applied and got in for spring 2025. I plan to open my online store with my stock in a couple of months before attending the con with indie game-inspired works and originals from prints to charms. So, If you are interested, stay tuned!

Sketchbook #2

I have been trying some new piece ideas...

When doing composition sketches, I mostly only do traditional sketches or thumbnails as I want to "feel" them. It might sound a bit strange, but for me, some composition ideas just flow better with a physical pencil and paper. I get out my watercolors, put colors everywhere, and some compositions just come to life. Some. Not all, unfortunately.

Sketch compositions. Top: Mettaton's Kitchen scene sketch idea. Below: concept art idea for my game.

I have been planning to do a piece for Mettaton's kitchen scene in Undertale for ages but none of my sketches have quite taken my pick--including this one. Below is concept art for my game. I attempted to loan this one over to digital but found I just couldn't. I loved the watercolors and how they blended into each other I might need to keep this a traditional piece.

Will either of these pieces become fully rendered? The answer is....probably not, who knows? But, when sketching on paper, it's a bit more fun to just do wild with all kinds of mediums just to see what can happen!

Mettaton keychain sketch. No spoilers darlings!

Burger Pants keychain sneak-peek. I needed more merch of him.

For the store, I am planning on some Undertale keychains to celebrate its 10th anniversary (wow!) next year and some Deltarune prints as well. I don't want to keep plugging my store too much, but truly, knowing there is a community of people who want to support artists at conventions pushes me to create my merch and try something new.

Well, that's about it. Until next time, and thank you for your support! 🌷

Hello~!

Since it's been a couple of weeks since I joined Newgrounds, I wanted to make a formal introduction and a huge "thank you" to everyone who has supported my art!

My name is Rae and I've been an artist most of my life. I have been posting my art online for about 10 years but I have recently become disillusioned with social media and AI art that I took a two-year break from posting online.

I wanted to return to sharing my art and found Newgrounds' community and approach to creators aligned with my personal values, so, I joined! Everyone who has supported my art in the last few weeks, THANK YOU! I appreciate the support so much and am grateful for everyone's comments and being a fan. This community has already pushed me to share my creative works and I hope to be more involved when I can.

Sketchbook #1

Something I recently wanted to accomplish was keeping an art blog. To be honest, I am quite bad at talking about my art or inspirations. My mind is all over the place when drawing and it's very difficult to describe what my art even means to myself or what I wanted to express. So, to become better, I have started a "sketchbook" collection of just posting something from my sketchbook for discussion or just to keep myself drawing on a schedule hehe.

One of the first pages of my 2024 sketchbook. Expect to see Undertale many, many...many times.

As seen from my art gallery, you might notice I have something of a "passion" for Undertale. I actually played Undertale roughly 6 years after it came out in the Fall of 2021—to be blunt, I fell in love. Toby's story-telling and characters reached my heart like it did for many people when it came out and I just couldn't (still can't!) get it out of my creative mind and inspiration. So much so, that I currently have an art collection project entirely dedicated to Undertale named "It's Still You" that most of my Undertale pieces are a part of. Most of my Undertale related pieces and sketches are driven by a desire to just give back to this video game that inspired me greatly and a love for its world.

A character from my upcoming game. He sells stuff you don't want for money you don't have.

I'm a gamer. I recently became a part of a group in my hometown that focused on game development. I haven't made any full-functional games during my time here, but! I still learn so much and want to put my creativity into bringing a video game world to life. Still working out the main ideas, and of course actual development, you will likely see some of my concept art and character designs from it posted here. I don't want to share too much as it's still a large work-in-progress, but if you're interested in following my journey I'll be updating on it when able to.

That's about it for now. Thank you again everyone and hope to continue posting sketches when I am able to!
